I have read most doctors recommend being able to sit anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks after a BBL. Is it safe after the 8 week mark to sit for extended periods of time and work out as normal? If you workout legs and glutes should you take it easy at first? My question is can you resume life as normal or should you slowly ease into working out hardcore and sitting for extended periods of time. Thank you! Looking forward to getting some quotes for the procedure.

Answer: Recovery after bbl its not recommended to make too much pressure on to the fat injection areas which is butt in bbl surgery. for that reason we do recommend to use a bbl pillow after the operation in order to reduce the pressure. sitting is never dangerous but its improper to sit directly on the injected fat cells. always its better to improve the exercise capacity slowly day by day

Answer: Recovery protocol. I suggest scheduling several in person consultations for the local board-certified plastic surgeons. Because each surgeon has their own postoperative protocol it makes little sense to review all the different variables since the only one that matters is from the surgeon who will do your procedure. Regardless of what my protocol is you should follow the recommendations of the surgeon who does your procedure. Most providers will have patients gradually re-engage in physical activity a few weeks to a few months after the procedure. Go get some consultations and get an accurate assessment and a better understanding of the procedure and its recovery. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
