I had liposuction under my chin 20 years ago. The surgery left me with puckers, which PS said were adhesions. He cut them away from the muscle, which helped. One large pucker remains, as well as loose skin under my chin. I would finally like to have a revision surgery to tightening up the skin and get rid of the pucker (along with cords starting to show). Can anything be done?

Answer: Revision facelift for excess puckered and loose skin of the neck and cheeks. Revision facelift for excess puckered and loose skin of the neck and cheeks should give you a much nicer looking neck if done by a very experienced facelift surgeon.

Answer: Liposuction under chin left skin loose and puckered. Can this be fixed 20 years later? Yes, your neck area can be improved. At this point, a face and necklift would typically be required to tighten and reposition the sagging tissue there. This will usually remedy aging in your neck and also smooth out the banding and sagging in that area. Liposuction, alone, at this point is unlikely to create any further improvement. However, we'll often perform a very small amount of liposuction at the time of a facelift/ necklift procedure to create some additional skin tightening along the jaw and neckline. I hope this information is helpful.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
