I am 4 weeks post op and for the last few weeks I have been bleeding during bowel movements lots of blood in toliet. Can this be from the liposuction? Could they have wounded my intestines?
Answer: Bleeding 4 weeks after surgery is extremely unlikely to be related to the surgery 4 weeks after surgery you are healed and it is extremely unlikely that any bleeding would be related to the surgery itself. If your intestines had been injured you would be very very sick within hours after the surgery not 4 weeks later. And if you are asking about hemorrhoids, which are the most common cause of blood in stool, then it is probably just a coincidence that you got them now. Hemorrhoids could form or become more obvious during constipation which could occur shortly after a surgery (pain killers can cause constipation) but tends to resolve once you stop your pain killers

Answer: Liposuction Does Not Cause Hemorrhoids It is very unlikely that the bleeding is from the liposuction injuring your intestines. If that had occurred, you would be much, much sicker by now. You are probably right when you suggest it could be from hemorrhoids. If you were constipated after the surgery, or there was increased pressure to the abdominal area (for example, by wearing a compression garment), it could have aggravated hemorrhoids. Best thing to do is see your family doctor or internist, and have them check it out.

Answer: Blood in bowel movements is not from liposuction. Blood from your bowels is not due to your liposuction. It's possible, if you had some prolonged constipation from narcotics after the surgery, that the bleeding is due to straining you may have done, never the less, it should be evaluated by your primary care doctor sooner rather than later.

Answer: Liposuction and rectal bleeding There should not be a correlation between liposuction and rectal bleeding. If your intestines had been damaged, you would be in extremis. I suggest that you see your internist for evaluation of this GI issue.
