Hello. I am wanting to have liposuction to the abdomen and flank area. I want skin tightening and smooth results. Which lipo would you recommend for me?

Liposuction is genuinely an art! There are great technologies available that all have the ultimate goal of removing stubborn fat. However, to optimize your results, there are certain things you can do as a patient:
1. Streinghten your muslcesBeing in good shape before your procedure will help make your recovery easier. Having a toned body also optimizes the aesthetics of your results after liposuction. 
2. Wear your compression garmentYour compression garment helps to minimize post-surgical swelling. The compression garment also helps your skin adjust to its new contour. 
3. Lymphatic massageLymphatic Drainage Massage is used after liposuction surgery to decrease swelling, pain, and bruising. Removing the excess fluids from the body also prevents the development of fibrosis, which is the development of thick, fibrous scar tissue under the skin and reduces swelling and bruising. 
4. Stick to a healthy diet A healthy diet is essential for healing and maintaining your long-term results.

Like most people, you've fallen for the corporate fallacy (propagated by surgeons who purchase their product) that it's their machine (Lysonix, Vaser, Smartlipo, Tickle, etc.) that produces the best result.  This has been proven to be false, and that the quality of the result lands smack on the shoulders of the operating surgeon. What you need to know is not what machine, but who will do the procedure. I'll give you a hint, it's not the one who does it while you're awake in their office.

Based on this photo, it looks that liposuction of abdomen, flanks and lower back (360) would create nice improvement. You should make in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in body contouring surgery and discuss your options. Good luck.

Thank you for your question. There’s a lot of liposuction technology. However, none has shown that different skin tightening additions, laser, ultrasound, etc. make any difference in postoperative results. Make sure that you’re comfortable with your surgeon and have an honest discussion about your goals. Good luck.

In person exam is essential. Based on a limited photo- it appears that you would benefit from a tummy tuck in order to achieve the best result. Liposuction alone only removes fat, and does nothing to excess skin and loose muscle. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS and review your options in detail

Not to be facetious, but the best technique is that technique that your chosen surgeon uses. There are lots of different techniques because no one of them is better than the other. If there was a clear better choice, everyone would be using that. You honestly should not be researching what technique is best. Plastic surgeons train for many, many years to do that.
