Will lipo give me a small waist? (Photo)

Thank you for your question about achieving a smaller waist with liposuction. Based on your history and pictures, aggressive liposuction seems a great solution for you. Don't forget, after the procedure. Wearing a compression garment for about 6-8 weeks and considering regular lymphatic massage is important. If you were over 50 and had stretch marks, a tummy tuck might be a better fit, but as you didn't mention your age, I'd say liposuction could be your best bet. Thank you for your question. I think the best procedure for you would be a tummy tuck. This will allow your Surgeon to tighten the abdominal wall muscles and reduce down the flank area. Along with a low carb diet and exercise which will help reduce the intra abdominal fat. Liposuction is a good option but won't give you the flattest belly because of the diastasis you have of the abdominal wall muscles. I would suggest speaking with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in person to evaluate you and discuss your options. Best of luck to you.

This is a very common scenario that I see often in my practice. It is difficult to offer a recommendation without assessing you in person however judging by your picture I would offer you liposuction alone.
If you have a rectus diastasis the only way to flatten the tummy is to repair it through a tummy tuck incision. Your skin excess appears minimal however, so in the absence of rectus diastasis, liposuction can improve your trunk contour significantly.

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. It is difficult to give you the right answer based on this photo alone but it seems that you are a good candidate for liposuction without the need for a tummy tuck.

If you are wanting a tighter, flatter tummy then a tummy tuck would be recommended based on your photo. Liposuction will remove excess subcutaneous fat but cannot address loose skin or abdominal wall laxity. Liposuction can be added to a tummy tuck to help optimize your results. I've included a video I hope you find helpful.

Liposuction removes excess fat only. It does not tighten weak muscles or remove excess skin. You could try noninvasive EMSculpt treatments to help tone and tighten your muscle and decrease fat.

Choosing the correct procedure should be based on making an accurate assessment.
Tell me a joke primarily through terminal steel box and muscle separation from previous pregnancies.
You did not include your GYN history which is paramount in making the assessment.
Based on your pictures you appear to be the quintessential perfect Liposuction candidate.
You may have muscle separation if you have children but it does not appear to be an issue based on your pictures.

Delivering consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. The number of plastic surgeons who have truly mastered Liposuction is a relatively few.
Unfortunately far too many plastic surgeons view liposuction as a simplistic procedure that has a low learning curve.
With that attitude the results tend to be mediocre and never get better.
Plastic surgeons who continue to fail to get quality liposuction results will look for alternative ways of getting better results like recommending a tummy tuck when the patient needs liposuction.
To get consistent quality liposuction results you need to look far beyond having just two consultations.
I recommend starting by looking at each plastic surgeons before and after pictures on their website.
Plastic surgeons who have lots of experience and are good at Liposuction should have lots of quality before and after pictures of Liposuction results on their website.
During each in person consultation ask each provider to open up your profile and show you their entire collection a before and after pictures of abdominal liposuction results.
For reference a highly experienced plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 set I was before and after pictures of commonly performed procedures like abdominal liposuction.
This is not an exaggeration.
Bing show me a handful of preselected images best results of a providers career is totally insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like or how many of these procedures a surgeon has actually done.
Ask each provider to only show you before and after pictures of previous patients who are very similar body characteristics to your own. The same type of skin, the same amount of body fat, similar overall body shape etc. etc.
Ask surgeons to show you examples of excellent results, average results and results that did not turn out as well as they had hoped.
Look very carefully at every area treated to make sure there are no skin contour irregularities anywhere.
Review with the before and after pictures with the surgeon and ask them specifically what areas were treated and what areas were not treated. look very carefully a transition zone between treated and untreated areas.
I personally view the torso as a single anatomic unit and generally recommend treating the entire torso when doing Liposuction.
Buy treating the entire torso patients are left with a natural even thin fat distribution that is consistent on their entire torso. if any area of the torso is left untreated patient will be left with an unnatural fat distribution.
A full torso includes upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles all the way down to the hip dip, waist, full back and under arm all the way to the side of the breast.
Continue having consultations until you are quite certain you found the most talented provider in your area for Liposuction.
Liposuction could be done using general anesthesia for local anesthesia with some type of sedation.
My personal preference is to do local anesthesia with mild sedation.
The major advantage to avoiding general anesthesia is the ability to have patients move and hold different positions throughout the procedure.
There is no set number of consultations patients need to find the right provider but I recommend having at least five consultations and consider having quite a few more if you have any uncertainty about each providers skill and experience.

I highly recommend against traveling long distances for elective surgical procedures.
For some individuals there’s simply is not sufficient local talent and travel may be necessary.
