Liposonix Treatments to the Back Arm Area- Off Label. Is it safe to treat? (Photo)

It is hard for me to believe that a company rep would say "it is off label but safe to treat" because they are advised not to say things like that. However, what they typically say is "it is off label but we are aware of physicians using it off label safely in those areas ..."  Anyways, it sounds like semantics but the FDA highly regulates companies and their reps from "pushing" off label uses - it is left to the discretion of the treating physician. The bruising will go away and there are some things that we advocate in our practice like Swell-X and BruiseFighter to reduce these side effects. These products are available online. 

Liposonix
uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound to destruct fat. A Liposonix treatment
is FDA approved for the Abdomen and Flanks but can be used where there is at
least 1 inch of fat.

In my office
we treat abdomens, flanks, bra bulges, saddle bags, arms, inner thighs etc. As
long the patients in an appropriate candidate.

The biggest
side effect post procedure is in fact bruising and swelling, that can last up
to 2 weeks. It is possible to have bruising and swelling after the procedure
but it is not necessary for good results.
