Is Liposonix painful? How different is it from Liposuction?

Liposonix
is a non-invasive fat reduction procedure. High intensity ultrasound energy is focused on the targeted area and fat tissue below
the skin is permanently destroyed. The treatment
can cause discomfort. Liposonix cannot
achieve the same results as a surgical liposuction procedure. CoolSculpting and Venus Legacy offer other,
non-invasive and perhaps less painful alternatives for body contouring.

Liposonix as well as Liposculpture can cause discomfort in patients, which is why your doctor should try to make you as comfortable as possible. Sedation is sometimes used for both options in order to minimize any discomfort. 

Liposuction is a surgical procedure and even though the incisions are tiny, the volume of tissue treated can be large. It can be done under local anesthesia but this requires injections. There are bandages and recovery time. Liposonix is completely noninvasive and does not require any injected anesthesia. There is a variable degree of discomfort during the procedure, but it is tolerable for most people. There is no significant recovery involved but it takes 4-12 weeks to see the final result.

Liposonix is uncomfortable. I typically give patients medication before the procedure. It is totally different from liposuction. There is no incision and no down time. Results are good but not equivalent to liposcution. Results are similar to other non-invasives like Coolsculpting and Ultrashape. Ultrashape does not hurt but requires 3 sessions.

Liposonix is non invasive and uses focused ultrasound and may have some discomfort but premedicating with analgesics, non steroidals and bioflavonoids like Swell-X reduces pain, discomfort and post procedural swelling. A physician with experience would adequately medicate you to reduce discomfort and pain during the Liposonix treatment. I do not believe that IV sedation or general anesthesia is needed for this procedure as I do it without those techniques. 

There is a major difference between both
Liposuction and Liposonix; Liposuction is minimally invasive and Liposonix is
non-invasive. It is best for you to consult with your doctor and find out which

Everyone has
a different pain tolerance, that being said this procedure can be done with
oral pain medications or general anesthesia if the patient chooses.Liposonix is
a non-surgical procedure that uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound to
destruct the fat.You can lose approximately 1 inch in 1 hour with 1 treatment.
There is a possibility of bruising and swelling after treatment but you can
resume your regular lifestyle with NO RESTRICTIONS immediately after treatment.
Results aren’t immediate as the body has to naturally remove the treated fat,
this generally takes 8-12 weeks to be completed.

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that can be done under
general, regional or local anesthesia. Suction-assisted liposuction is the
standard method, where a small cannula that is attached to a vacuum device is
inserted through a small incision. The surgeon pushes the cannula forwards and
backwards through the fat layer breaking up the fat cells that are suctioned
out.

Discomfort during Liposonix treatment is expected. It is not intolerable
for most patients. If need be, pain medicine can be administered to aid in the
discomfort during treatment. Liposuction is an invasive treatment that removes
fat through surgery. Liposonix is non-invasive, meaning there is no surgery
required. This is beneficial as there is no scarring involved. Liposonix uses
high-intensity focused ultrasound energy, whereas traditional liposuction
involves surgery. The Liposonix system can also be custom-tailored to address
your specific problem areas. One hour of treatment is usually sufficient to produce
visible results.
