Can an old lip piercing displace my lip filler? (Photo)

Hi. It is possible to have scar tissue built up from lip piercing, and it potentially can restrict the expansion of lip tissue when injecting filler to the area. The good news is, filler is usually correctable. You can either try putting more product to the smaller side, or dissolving some from the bigger side. 

Piercings can lead to a degree of scar tissue formation which can restrict the ability of the lip tissue to expand with the filler. I would advise having a review with your original Injector to discuss any residual bumps to see if they warrant a further intervention, and if so what they would recommend given the clinical presentation. This could either involve further filler to the smaller side, or dissolving of the filler on the larger side. 

A penetrating trauma always leaves certain degree of scarring and its density prevents filler to be distributed evenly. However, this can be corrected with time by periodic injections of very small amount of filler into the scar area to expand the tissue. Just talk to your injector and be patient. Good luck!
