What is the clear jelly leaking from my lips after Juvederm? (Photo)

As you have clearly described there was an initial black dot which was probably a necrotic tissue due to an underlying infection. The jelly like substance is most likely the juvederm. Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  It is possible that the clear jelly is your Juvederm and I would advise you to stop squeezing the lip to avoid additional complications such as infection.  Call and make an appointment with your injector, they need to evaluate your tissues in order to give you the best advice.  Best wishes.  

Definitely stop squeezing your lip.  What you describe sounds like the Juvederm being expressed from your lip.  Leave it alone and see your injector.

I do a lot of lip injections in my office and it may be that you have an infection.  I would call the office and leave a message since they may need to see you in person or prescribe an oral antibiotic to you first.  The clear jelly may be Juvederm that you are expressing.  Please consult an expert in lip fillers for the best cosmetic results. Hello and thank you for the question.  The purulent material you first noticed is likely a small superficial infection or is at least fluid with a high concentration of white cells.  The gel you noticed is likely the Juvederm filler.  I recommend that you do not continue to try to express the filler, although if you saw pus, it is likely already contaminated with bacteria.  I would return to the doctor who performed the fill procedure when his or her office opens so they can further manage it.  If in the meantime you see any signs that your infection is getting worse, I would call your physician's after hours service or go the emergency room for more immediate care.  Hope this helps.

Dear Sam,Juvederm is a clear "jelly like" material so that is most probably what you squeezed out.  Just call your surgeon up for a follow up appointment.  If you do not have increased swelling or redness in the area, there is no emergency.Best of luck with continued healing.Dr T

If you continue to squeeze your lips, the jevederm may be expressed and then you may have issues with the whole actually closing. Stop doing so and go for a follow up with your treating physician. Good luck from New York City
