That is a great question, and it is one that is sometimes very hard to sort through. -Lip filler makes the red/purple part of your lip bigger and fuller-A Lip Lift actually decreases the amount of skin between your nose and the red/purple part of your lip, which also give a slight "up-turning" of the red/purple part and makes it look fuller. In general, for young patients I often would steer them towards trying filler first. It is not a permanent decision and less invasive, but also young people are less likely to have lengthening of their lips that occurs with aging. As far as mouth widening procedures, I would not generally recommend this for cosmetic reasons as they can result in significant scarring. I have only performed these for reconstructive reasons. Hope this helps!
