I've been in a nursing field for 44 years I've never met anyone so passionate and caring and positive in this field.. cares personally about his patience and their outcomes.. I would recommend him highly His office staff to is anesthesiologist are all the best.. I've never seen anyone in a bad mood short or Curt with anybody they always have a smile on their face and they're always willing to help and listen listening is the most important thing especially a doctor can do and that's something he does very well.
Dr Hamrah is amazing!! I can't believe there aren't more reviews on him, so I want to let you know how much he has changed my life!! He's so humble about his work, people even fly from Miami and Beverly Hills just to see him here in the Tysons, VA area. So how I found him was honestly crazy - I had to get my wisdom teeth surgically removed (no dentist would do it because it was that bad. Basically my wisdom teeth have grown out to be so close to connecting to the nerves of my nose that connect to my brain, so I had to find an oral surgeon who could remove them without killing me lol) As I did research, I also was curious about lip implants at the same time since I would have to take off time for work for my wisdom teeth, and then I found his page and found out he does BOTH! He only specializes in face procedures, which is actually a big deal in the plastic surgery industry, because most surgeons will perform all areas, but he expressed how important it is to only specialize in one area of the body to be a real expert. So I was like ok - let's have a consultation (I was hoping to just do both while I am under the anesthesia) Reason for lip implants? I've been getting lip fillers for 5 years and wanted something permanent as an investment and did some research and he is the best!!! I got soooo lucky!! He was one of the first to be performing lip implants 10+ years ago, and we discussed different options and I went with the "medium" size (there's only three sizes). I ended up having him shape my nose to be less wide also (I had a small hump) so we did ALL surgeries at the same time! He only likes doing natural looks - he says his work is like a "master piece" and wants everyone to walk out looking their best (not fake). I personally appreciated this because I really wanted huge lips but he's right, this is a better more natural look for me. A year later I came back to have my buccal fat removed and it's been the best! Even though I workout, I can never lose fat around the cheek/jaw area and this really helped slim my face. I am on 4 months post op now and it's been the best decision I've ever made. Every time I see him, he tells me not to do any more work and tells me to stop being so hard on myself, he doesn't care about the money, just wants his patients to be happy (which is a first for me, because typically other doctors are always telling me to get more work done (botox, filler, etc) - he's NEVER pushed anything on me!! I am the one that's always like "well what about if we do ___" and he just says no, you it's natural, you don't need botox, filler, etc. Hope this review helps other people, I got lucky by finding him and just want to get the word out because he's worth it.
After going back& forth, I finally bit the bullet and got the permalip implants. I've had fillers many times , of 1cc mostly in upper lip. I went with the 5mm in top and 4 on bottom. My swelling is pretty bad at the moment. With some slight bruising on the L side. The pain after the procedure, on the 1st day, was no joke. But it's been minute since then. Just taking motrin and using neospotin and arnica cream. Updated on 8 Aug 2016: Just left Dr. Hamrah's office, for my post op. appt. I'm almost 100% healed, a tiny bit of residual swelling. As usual, his office was very pleasant, as is all of his staff. The Dr's bedside manner is exceptional! He'sincredibly knowledgeable & trustworthy, and does NOT try to sell you on anything. The day of my surgery, Jon, 1 of the nurses's assisting, was incredibly kind & consoling when I was having some stress from the numbing/ anasthetic causing my heart to raise (I have heart issues), he was such a doll. His caring touch and tlc went a long way in that situation! I still am very VERY pleased with my choice to have the permalip procedure with Dr. Hamrah! Updated on 19 Apr 2017: Still very happy with results.
Hi, This is a difficult question to answer as you are pretty much asking for someone to predict whether or not you are going to be happy with a result. However to answer your question simply and based on the pictures, I don't think you will be satisfied with the largest size perma lip implant of 5mm if you think your 2ml of Restylane you got are not enough. I was one of the first surgeons in the nation to do the lip implants and have done hundreds of them and I would recommend to you to stay with fillers. Also because once you have the lip implants you should not have fillers injected over them as you could potentially seed the implants with bacteria and cause infection of the implants. Hope this helped, Dr. Hamrah
Dear Liz, Lip filler injection is an art and there are many ways to correct mistakes by either adding filler or subtracting filler (with hyaluronidase). It depends on the artistic eyes and abilities of the injector and of course experience. Anything can be done in the right hands. Typically it should be done right the first time, but minor corrections can be necessary depending on the experience of the injector. Best, Dr. Hamrah @drhamrah
Hi, No, it is not likely that you hurt anything. However I would check with my surgeon to be in the safe side. It depends on the amount of grafting and the technique that was used. Best, Dr. Hamrah @drhamrah
Hi, This usually happens if too much botox was injected and traveled into the orbicularis ori muscle which is lip muscle or the wrong muscle was injected. If done right this should not happen. At this point you will have to wait until the effects of your botox injection weaken which will take up to 4 months. Best, Dr. Hamrah @drhamrah
Hi, Thank you for your questions and I am sorry about your recovery process! There are several issues that I see with your surgery. The incision below your chin is to far towards your chin and should have been lower towards the neck. Also it is extremely long! I do all my incision from inside the mouth and use silocone implants (Implantech) in order to avoid infection. Typically Medpore implants because of their porous nature are not placed through inside the mouth because the often get infected and therefore rarely used anymore. Further it appears that your implant is placed to far up and should have been placed farther down on your chin. Please ask your surgeon how he secured the implant. I usually secure it with a small screw since otherwise the muscle movement of the chin moves the implant up. Also I see still a lot of swelling and inflammation which I believe has to do with the choice of implant (Medpore). Again, I prefer the silicone implants which are far superior and I do lots of them! So, in summary, even though your condition should improve with time, I don't believe the above issues will disappear and will have to be addressed at some point. But again, please discuss them with your surgeon and I would go for a second opinion to either an oral and maxillofacial surgeon or facial plastic surgeon. Best regards, Dr. Daria Hamrah @drhamrah
