I'm a 21 year old female looking into getting a breast procedure. Throughout all my teenage years I've gained because of school and hydro lose weight and now I've found my goal weight losing 30 lbs from 170 to 140 and continuing to lose more weight. My main question here is if I need a lift and and augmentation or just an augmentation. I'm looking for my breast to look fuller and not look and feel so empty.
Answer: Breast augmentation/lift Thank you for your question and for your photos. Based on your photos provided, you are an ideal candidate for a breast augmentation and breast lift. I would advise you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed examination to discuss all possible treatment options and what your expectations are.

Answer: Breast Lift with Implants The best procedure for you is dependent on exactly what your aesthetic goals are. Based on your photo, I think that you are a candidate for a breast lift with implants. A breast lift will address any sagging skin/tissue and improve your overall breast shape while implants provide you the volume increase that you are looking for. Because you already have a significant amount of sagging breast tissue, getting implants alone will create a situation where the breast tissue is falling off the implant causing a "Snoopy dog deformity" if placed behind the muscle. If placed in front of the muscle, these large implants will weigh down the breast and cause a "rock in the sock" deformity. I recommend setting up a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Best of luck!

Answer: Do I need a lift or just an augmentation? Thanks for your question. Breast augmentation alone will restore volume in deflated breasts, and provide some lift. However, based on your photos it looks like you would be best served with a combination of breast lift with augmentation. The parameters of both the breast lift and the position of the breast implants should be designed to keep the implants relatively low while lifting the breast tissue and nipple to sit directly over the implants. Many techniques exist in breast surgery, and combined lifting with augmentation is especially tricky. The key is working with an expert, board certified plastic surgeon to get the best plan for the individual.

Answer: Breast Augmentation vs Breast Augmentation and LIft Thank you for your questions. Based on the pictures you have provided I would recommend a Breast Augmentation and a Breast lift. This will allow your surgeon to deliver better shape and perkier breasts. I would suggest seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in person to evaluate you and go over your options. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Breast Lift Surgery / Mastopexy -- Breast Mound Repositioning, Nipple & Areola Relocation, Excess Skin Removal, Fat Grafting, Br You need a formal evaluation by a licensed plastic surgeon and expert in breast lifts, revisions and augmentations to determine what is best for you and your goals. Breast lift surgery can improve a woman's breast shape by repositioning the breast mound at a higher position on the chest and then centering the nipple and areola on the breast itself. If there is enough breast tissue, I can perform a highly aesthetic mastopexy without the addition of further volume by internally rearranging the breast tissue and removing excess skin. If more volume is needed, especially in the upper portion of the breasts, we will discuss the possibility of fat grafting or silicone gel implant placement. The type of incision required for this surgery (circumareolar, “lollipop” or “anchor”) and the lifespan of the lift depends on each patient’s condition, breast tissue, genetics, weight and hormonal fluctuations, and desired results. Augmentation with mastopexy is a challenging surgery that requires significant experience to create a shape that is youthful, natural, and proportionate to the body, while managing the native tissue as well as fat grafts or implants. When performed properly, it can result in a dramatic improvement to a woman’s breast appearance. I suggest consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon and expert in Breast Lifts. - Dr. Cohen
