Bruising/hematoma on middle part of breast. Advised to put Hirudoid cream on it. Should I see a dermatologist? (photos)

based on your first photos, it looks like you had a bruising but I'm not sure about bruising on third photo. I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.

That doesn't look like a bruise.  More like a rash that could be fungal or hypersensitivity rash.  Additionally, you are now getting some dark, hyperpigmentation spots.  That can be toned down with some hydroquinone, but I think a dermatologist would be ideal to help make a proper diagnosis.  

While in the initial photo the area appears to be bruised it does not appear to be the case in the subsequent photos.  If you are not able to visit with your surgeon then an appointment with a dermatologist may be a good idea.

It does appear from the photo that you have some type of rash. A dermatologist may be your best option.Good luck!

Hi and welcome to our forum!The initial photograph appears to represent a bruise.  A hematoma would be manifested by increasing breast size, increasing pain, increasing bruising. Bruising between the breasts is not unusual and requires no treatment.  The followup photos appear to demonstrate a phenomenon separate from the bruise. Is this a hypersensitivity to the Hirdoid cream? This drug is a "heparinoid" substance, which is used to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and promote resolution of bruising.  This drug can cause local skin reactions such as contact dermatitis and allergic reactions in hypersensitive individuals.  ( I must admit I am totally unfamiliar with this drug).I recommend evaluation by a dermatologist sooner than later.Best wishes...

i think you have some type of skin problem between your breasts. if you had a bruise by one month, it would likely be gone or improved significantly. This is not a surgical problem but rather a skin rash problem, so in this case, a dermatologist would be a good choice.david berman md
