It is best to discuss your concerns with a surgeon experienced in rhinopalsty. It is difficult to make a determination based on one photo. However, the tip of the nose can be de-projected (i.e. set back) to a degree. The degree of nasal tip set back can be determined by balancing with the other features of your nose.
Rhinoplasty can improve a pointy nose. There are a number of surgical considerations when correcting a pointy nose. For example; the shape of your tip, the degree of projection, the width of your nostrils etc.. This cannot be determined by a photo. It is best to have the entire nose assessed in consultation with an experienced Rhinoplasty surgeon.
Thank you for your question. Many characteristics of one's nose can be changed by a variety of surgical maneuvers performed during a rhinoplasty (nose job). The surgical maneuvers that you need will depend on the findings found during a thorough history and physical exam by a qualified plastic surgeon. This cannot be determined based on one picture. Certainly, a pointy tip can be treated by some of these surgical maneuvers. Best of luck to you.
Although the photos provides limited information, I believe that you are a good candidate for rhinoplasty. I agree that your nose can be de-projected (shortened) to reduce the "pointiness." Meet with a Board-certified plastic surgeon who will guide you in the right direction, show you options based on your existing nose, create a simulation, and tailor a plan to meet your goals. Best wishes!
Nasal tip plasty can address up point a long nasal tip. Removing some of the cartilages from the tip of the nose would bring the nose back towards the face and reduce the pointy appearance.RegardsDr. J
In the experienced hands the can be made, shorter, longer wider or narrower. While we have only one view of your nose, you seem to be a good candidate based on what I see here.
Thank you for your question. Rhinoplasty surgery can be used to alter the shape of your nose, to change the angle of the tip in relation to your face. Seek consultation with an experienced Facial Plastic Surgeon to discuss your goals.Best Wishes
The pic is not great, but it looks like a rhinoplasty would offer you the chance of correction of your nose concerns. A thorough exam would be required to make the final decision. Good luck.
An experienced rhinoplasty surgeon will look at your nose in its totality, not simply the pointy tip.Your skin appears to be thin, and therefore, changes to the cartilage structure that form the (pointy)tip should be seen post operatively, however, any irregularities will also been see. Furthermore changing the shape of your tip is different from reducing the projection of your tip(then length from your upper lip to your tip). Reducing projection will make your nostril flare(get wider) and may alter the harmony of your other facial features. Finally your tip appears to be over projecting because the top of your nose(between your eyes) is under projecting; therefore, an augmentation of the bridge may be sufficient to reduce the apparent projection and tip sculpting may be all that is necessary.Hope this helps
Rhinoplasty can improve the pointy appearance. It would help to have a photo showing the entire nose, but it appears that you can benefit from either a closed or open procedure for this. I recommend that you see a Board-Certified surgeon that can tell you your options.
In our practice we use 3D imaging to help you see what results are possible in a rhinoplasty. I work hard to help a patient understand what is possible cosmetically that will leave her with a functional nose. Many surgeons will bring the nose to the point that the patient wants without thinking...
A rib graft is sometimes necessary to repair a saddle nose deformity. Usually this is done by an experienced surgeon who performs revisions and "difficult cases". I suspect they did a good job and the post operative swelling is normal. Swelling post rhinoplasty will improve. This is only...
Dear titisandnose, I would suggest that you speak with your surgeon regarding what your limitations and activities should be at four weeks post surgery. At this early stage of recovery you want to avoid any impact to your nose. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
