Will a rib graft make a nose look bigger after surgery?

A rib graft is sometimes necessary to repair a saddle nose deformity. Usually this is done by an experienced surgeon who performs revisions and "difficult cases". I suspect they did a good job and the post operative swelling is normal. Swelling post rhinoplasty will improve. This is only your first week post op and you need to be patient.

A rib graft for dorsal augmentation is a more involved procedure than a standard rhinoplasty.  As such it may require more dissection to place the graft and fixate in place which may make swelling worse initially.  You need to be patient as the process for swelling to resolve may take months. 

Swelling after rib-graft rhinoplasty can be more than other approaches. You need to give your nose time to heal and allow for the swelling to improve. It would help to have some photos and an idea of when the surgery was done. I would recommend addressing these concerns to your surgeon, because he or she can best help you.

Rib grafts tend to swell a decent amount. If you had a significant revision surgery needing rib cartilage, it will likely be more swollen than your primary surgery. It will continue to improve, give it time. Continue your visits and dialogue with your surgeon.Best of luck
