Why do my lip fillers look uneven? (Photos)

Asymmetry, swelling, nodules, and bruising are very common in the 1st two weeks after lip injections.  And as you get more injections and your lips have more pressure within them, these risks increase.  You also have to keep in mind that every time you smile, purse, and open/close your lips, you are moving the product within your lips.  It is not uncommon for your lips to bend the product out of where it was placed.  My advise is to wait 2 weeks for everything to settle, then go back to your injector for fine tuning- add more product where it needs to be added, and dissolve product from areas of nodules or overfill.   Beautiful, symmetric lips take a lot of patience and time! 

There may be several reasons why they look uneven. First, there could be some residual swelling after the injections which can take several weeks to settle down.  I advise my clients to wait 2 weeks before deciding if there needs to be an correction.There is a risk of asymmetry with any dermal filler injections.  We are inherently asymmetrical and sometimes it can get accentuated with these injections . However the best course is to wait.  In addition, most of the times I can get massage the area which may for over corrected and advise the clients to do the same, and within a few weeks it looks more symmetrical.Finally, if it still appears to be off, then a small amount of the dissolving enzyme called Hylenex can be injected to even the injections.
