The bruising will resolve in several weeks. In the mean time, VBeam, arnica and cold compresses can help give improvement. With injections to the tear troughs, I recommend using cannulas to limit bruising. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer

You need to find experienced injectors.  Any time you are poked with a needle you can bruise.  I think it is bizarre that they gave you money back for causing a bruise.  The bruise will take about 2 weeks to resolve.  At that point, you may need to have your service adjusted.  Some times you get what you pay for.

I'm sorry you had a large bruise. You will likely make a full recovery. Bruising in this area is extremely common and it's due to the large number of tiny vessels found in the area. To avoid bruising next time, have the injection performed with a microcannula and be sure they needle is placed lower than the orbicular muscle. Generally speaking, if they educated you and reviewed the risks of this injection, then you signed an informed consent, they had no obligation to give you money back. Be sure you do not have any more procedures for which you are not willing to accept the risks, even if they're rare.Another reason you could have bruised is due to the use of blood thinners like aspirin and ibuprofen.
