Clear & Brilliant Orginal Vs Permea, any suggestions?

Your provider will decide which handpiece is better for your needs, assuming they are board-certified plastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon,  or dermatologist. 
In general, issues of pigmentation (sunspots, age spots, freckling, and Melasma) are more rapidly treated with the Permea handpiece, which targets more superficially.  This handpiece also allows for greatly improved absorption of pure vitamin C products, resulting in a more dramatic effect  of the treatment, more rapid recovery, and other general antioxidant effects for the skin.   Because it acts more closely to the surface of the skin, pore size and superficial texture are greatly improved as well. 
The Original handpiece acts on deeper layers of the skin. It stimulates production of collagen so it rejuvenates the skin long term, allowing for progressive improvement of fine lines  and a firmer deep texture.  The Original handpiece greatly improves pigment as well, but it just takes longer than treating with Permea.
In patients that have both concerns, both handpieces can be used. This can be done a different sessions (my preference) or in the same session. 
Treatment with either handpiece gives an immediate glow.  They are wonderful treatments for general maintenance, ongoing rejuvenation,  and prior to events. There is no downtime and it is safe for all skin types. 

Clear and Brilliant targets the epidermis. This is a minimal downtime laser which gently improves skin tone and texture with a single 10-20-minute treatment. It is 2 devices in 1, offering both the 1440nm handpiece for skin rejuvenation and the 1927nm Permea handpiece for pigmentation improvement.   For best results, you need four treatments, one month apart.

This is difficult to answer without pictures. I recommend Clear + Brilliant with microneedling/prp, salt facials and sin care to help improve pore size. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

 The Permea is more for treatment of pigmentation.  I like the original Clear + Brilliant machine,  which reduces pore size, tightens the skin, and gives a beautiful glow.  

The Clear + Brilliant Original (1440 nm wavelength) is intended to stimulate collagen, thus reducing pore size and improving fine lines/texture. That said, in my practice, we also find that the Permea hand piece (1927 nm wavelength), which is intended to treat pigmentation, such as melasma/sun spots, also improves texture and pores. Therefore, if you have enlarged pores as well as desire correction of skin pigmentation, I would suggest using the Permea. Good luck! 

Great question. First off, I love the Clear + Brilliant as do my patients. It's actually the most popular laser we offer in our clinic. Your question is one that I get often. Since you are really focused on improving skin texture and pores, I would suggest the Clear + Brilliant Original. The Permea is better for increasing radiance, permeability of topical, and improving tone. I also like the Permea for melasma. Alternatively, you can have the Permea combined with microneedling which would address tone, radiance, permeability as well as pores and texture. Good luck!

In my experience the Permea refines pigment, but there are better alternatives for pigment problems.  The original handpiece will shrink pores and refine the skin pigment as well.

I find the inverse is true. Off label the 1927 Permea can reduce pores to a better degree than the original - off label meaning energy is concentrated in the areas of enlarged pores with less energy on other areas. This is more of bespoke treatment rather than a full face, same level pass. I think the first thing is to find a specialist who is clear on how to maximise the potential of C and B, then sure, you can try the original and the Permea to see which gives you the best results.
