Would a genioplasty suffice for me or would I need something like bimax surgery? (Photo)

Question

I was interested in jaw surgery because it is said to help with many areas such as chin, jawline, nose, and cheeks. All of which are receded in my case. Unfortunately I have no medical need for the surgery, so it would be crazy expensive out of pocket. A doctor recommended a genioplasty for me, but I’m not sure if it would make a noticeable difference or not, and if it would be worth it. Thanks for your time and consideration.

Thanks for your pictures. Your overall profile is not bad. In my opinion, based on your pictures, you need upper jaw surgery to move it slightly in genioplasty to help your lower third contour. The most prudent way to get a definitive answer would be to seek an opinion from several qualified surgeons, either facial surgeon and or Plastic Surgeon .

Your teeth appear straight and if you feel that you can eat anything then corrective jaw surgery is unnecessary. It usually requires 2 years of orthodontics and hospital surgery. I would recommend a sliding genioplasty to improve your chin and lower facial balance. A rhinoplasty would enhance your nose. The genioplasty and rhinoplasty are performed in the office as an outpatient procedure and there is no need for hospitalization. The genioplasty will not change your bite and braces are not required.

It’s important to understand which part of the mandible has a problem. In your case your lower lip has more projection than your upper lip, that tells me your mandible has fairly good projection in relationship to your maxilla. 
You chin slopes backwards without projection so yes advancing your chin with a genioplasty, implant or with fillers would be a good idea. 
Consult with plastic surgeons and oral surgeons in your area.
