I'm a 36 y/o female. Never had any type of procedures done on my face. I would like a smaller, rounder, just prettier nose.
Answer: I feel the tip of my nose is square/bulbous and my nostrils are a bit uneven. Is it possible to get the results I want? I think that refinement of the tip will make a very nice improvement in the overall balance of the nose and facial proportions.Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA

Answer: Tip of my nose is square/bulbous and my nostrils are a bit uneven. The areas that you described and would like improved can be addressed with a subtle natural appearing rhinoplasty performed by an expert artistic plastic surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience. Whether the optimal option in your particular situation would be a tip rhinoplasty alone or a full rhinoplasty would best be determined at a consultation. Either procedure can be performed with a closed or open approach. Keep in mind, that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of the proposed operative procedure with you may not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plastic surgeon (otolaryngologist) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California

Answer: Treating the bulbous tip in rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question and photographs. You would be an excellent candidate for a tip narrowing and refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trim, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts can also be performed to improve the symmetry of the nostrils. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result.Best wishes and good luck.
