Gynecomastia surgery: Will Medicaid cover gynecomastia surgery?

My man “boobs” have been hurting a lot my niplea hurt when it’s windy the gland from inside is painful at night when I lay on my chest.. all I have is Medicaid will that cover for it?doctors around my area? Orange County

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, most insurance companies consider gynecomastia correction as a cosmetic procedure. Medicaid likely does not cover gynecomastia correction. However, your nipple pain may not necessarily be due to gynecomastia. I would advise you to see a plastic surgeon for consultation and examination.

Hello and thanks for your question.  Sorry to hear that you have gynecomastia and that it is causing you discomfort.  Unfortunately, most likely medicaid will not cover your procedure.  My best advice would be to seek out academic programs where they might have a resident clinic that may take your case and insurance.  Best wishes.
