Greetings, I was reading about tissue expanders and the materials that are used for this. I also read that, this method can be used to reconstruct the labia minora, I have a few questions, is it really possible? What materials are used to expand the tissue of the labia minora? and how is the process in general? thank you in advance. Best regards.
Answer: Tissue expanders for labia minora I’m not sure what you are reading, but traditional “tissue expanders” are implantable devices that are slowly filled over time to stretch tissue. There is no circumstance in which this would be appropriate for the labia minora. I have used PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections to soften scar tissue in the area, which has allowed for stretching of previously tight tissue, but I’d be quite wary of anything experimental in this area. Sometimes in trying to fix things, they get worse.

Answer: We use Radiesse for labial rejuvenation In our practice, we love using hyper diluted Radiesse to offer instant improvement of the labia. This product delivers immediate volume while also promoting collagen and elastin which will make your results last longer. It is a safe and infective way to quickly improve the projection and volume of the labias.

Answer: Labial Filler Injectables such as Juvederm or Restylane, or your own fat, work well for augmenting the labia minora. A tissue expander is generally not something that is used for labial augmentation unless someone needs an actual reconstruction after surgery for cancer, etc. I hope this helps.

We can apply them in general anesthesia or local anesthesia, we choose one of them depends on the patient.

Answer: Labia minora reconstruction Tissue expanders are indeed used in reconstructive surgery, including for the labia minora. The process typically involves placing a silicone balloon-like device under the skin, which is gradually filled with saline solution over time. This expansion encourages tissue growth, and once sufficient expansion is achieved, the expander is replaced with a permanent implant. The materials used for labia minora reconstruction are often silicone-based. The process is typically performed by a plastic or reconstructive surgeon with experience in genital reconstructive procedures. Best of luck !
