Are fat transfers to the labia permanent or will i need a touch up in 10 years time ? fat will stretch the skin and will this cause more sagging and wrinkles to the labia majora in the future?

When fat is transferred anywhere in the body, approximately half of the transplanted fat survives. On average, it takes three months for this survival process to play out. What you have left after three months is your final result and it's permanent. If you want more volume, you can repeat the fat transfer process any time after that and the same process will repeat. If you go up and down in weight, the area will go up and down in size. Sagging is a result of a large loss of size. Wrinkles are the results of loss of size and thinning of skin regardless of whether you had fat injected or not.

The results from fat transfer are considered permanent, however the transferred fat can be affected by aging and other factors - much like the fat on other parts of your body. For this reason, you may need a touchup but this is not guaranteed.

Thanks for your question. Once fat is transferred, and survived after the first ~ 6 weeks, it is permanent.  Skin does continue to age as time goes on. So the skin of the labia majora may benefit from Morpheus 8 if there are unsightly wrinkles which have developed.  Make sure you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Dear concerned patient, you have not provided us with any picture and the reason for the fat transfer.
it has been mentioned by other physicians regarding how long the fat transfer will stay, but the question is why a fat transfer is needed, some times it is the laxity in which fat transfer is not the answer and skin tightening might be the solution.
reconstruction of the vulva and vagina is like a facelift of the face, the injection might not be the only or best answer, tightness might be the solution.

After the fat transfer, some of them will melt away within three months, and the rest will be permanent. It is necessary to wait three months to see the real and permanent result, so we transfer more fat than normal in labia majora fat injection, after three months it will reach the size you want permanently.
