I'm 33 and hoping to be pregnant soon through fertility treatment. I have volume loss under my eyes lately & am interested in filler. I assume that any weight gain will make the volume loss more pronounced and I don't want to look overly tired/worn out during a long-awaited for pregnancy. On the other hand, I don't want to make the problem worse if my face shape changes. My question is not "is this safe" but rather " is filler before pregnancy a good idea" from an aesthetic perspective?
Answer: Filler before pregnancy Hello and thank you for your question. It is always best to see you face to face for a consult and examination however in this case it's never a good idea to plan for a change in your face you may see as it may not happen and when you are pregnant changing things become very difficult. It would be best to avoid treating preemptively. I hope that helps answer your question. Always seek an experienced and qualified medical professional for these treatments. Very best wishes

Answer: Getting filler before pregnancy: What you need to know I appreciate your question. While it is difficult to predict the changes that your face will undergo during pregnancy, it could be helpful to get filler before you become pregnant. Tear trough filler adds subtle volume under the eyes to reduce bags and discoloration that often make us look more tired than we feel. I use a micro-cannula rather than a needle to treat this area, to ensure a smooth result and minimize bruising and swelling after treatment. I encourage you to schedule a consultation with an experienced, board-certified injector where you can discuss your concerns, plans, and goals. Your injector can help you determine whether this is a good time for filler. Keep in mind that we do not recommend a treatment like filler when you are pregnant, so be sure to time your treatment appropriately.

Answer: Under eye fillers before pregnancy Hi, thanks for your question. It's hard to predict how your face might change during pregnancy, but if you are looking to get under eye fillers now in order to refresh your look, pregnancy in most cases won't make it look worse. My recommendation is to do what will make you feel good right now. That said, filler treatments are typically not recommended during pregnancy. I highly recommend that you speak to your provider about this and about any other concerns that you might have. They'll also be able to assess whether this is the right treatment for you.

Answer: Dark Circles/Eye Bags/Wrinkles -- Fillers Belotero, Volbella; Fraxel/Halo; emeragecosmetics ENLIGHTEN/AERIFY/COSMELAN under eyes need fillers, lasers, and plasmapen for a non surgical improvement. at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (emerageskin aerify roller with anteage MD ampules) should be started now. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat will such as lower eyelid blepharoplasty with or without fat pad repositioning will be the best long term. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles without surgery. Non invasive less downtime options such as fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP, cosmelan peels, and microneedling RF like Fractora or morpheus can all help give some improvement. Accutite can often be used or stronger lasers like erbium or co2 spot treatment can tighten the skin and give very quick improvement in wrinkles and texture. I suggest you get a formal consultation to see what is best for you and your goals. Best, Dr. Emer.
