Chin liposuction: numbness under chin toward the neck.

Hello, Had a chin liposuction last week. And so far happy with it, still wearing the head strep as much as possible. However there is a earea under my chin toward the neck that still looks "fat". Also is feels numb. Does that mean it's swollen that earea? Thanks for any answers.

There would still be some expected swelling present one week after liposuction under the chin.  It is possible to have numbness as well, but this does not always occur.  You will have to wait more time to see your final result and to allow the healing to occur.  It could take a few months for this to happen.  Your appearance should still change with more time and the numbness should improve as well.  If you feel things are not improving, you should contact your surgeon.

Swelling and numbness are normal occurrences following liposuction.  The swelling occurs due to the inflammation of the tissues and the numbness from the nerve endings that were disturbed during your surgery. The swelling should start to subside soon yet the numbness could continue for the next several weeks to over a month.
