50, female, 5'11, 150lbs, can rhinoplasty make nose smaller, while still looking the same? (Photos)

Question

I’m a 50 y.o. female, athletic build, 5’11”, 150 lbs. I have always felt insecure about the size/ width of my nose. I’d like my nose to look the same, just a little smaller. Can this be accomplished? I have attached an untouched image and a goal image adjusted on FaceTouchUp. Thank you for all your guidance. : )

Hello and thank you for your question and the pictures. Addressing the shape of your nose (especially the bridge and nasal tip) is actually one of the most common reasons people seek out and undergo a rhinoplasty. Your goals seem very reasonable, and an open septorhinoplasty can best address both your aesthetic concerns and any functional issues with your nose. I would be able to adjust the size, shape, and definition of your nose (particularly the bridge and the tip)!

This truly is a surgery of millimeters- and whether you're looking for a minor adjustment or a major transformation, it requires exceptional surgical skill to achieve functional and natural-looking results! Because your nose is the DEFINING feature of your face- I would only recommend seeing a surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty procedures, and who has significant training and experience performing these surgeries. I actually trained under one of the world leading rhinoplasty experts (who performs 1,000+ nosejobs annually).

One of peoples greatest fears after rhinoplasty is that they might look like a different person, and that is simply not the case. Based on your photo and your desires, you were looking to achieve a narrowing of the lower 1/3 of your nose, and I believe this is possible. Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

The photos are limited but it appears your nose couid be made narrower and the nostrils reduced if that’s what you have in mind
