8 weeks post op Lipo on Abdomen-Lumps and swelling persistent. (photos)

Question

I had a follow up appointment yesterday and asked my doctor about these two lumps on my stomach . I was thinking they were fluid or scar tissue but he thinks they might be fat he didn’t remove but feel something hard when I push down far on them? What could this be? Plus I’m overall so much bigger than I was 1st week post op! This far shouldn’t I be done swelling? I wore compression and I am massaging as of last week. And nothing is getting better?

Thanks for the question and I totally understand how frustrating this can be. Some people just scar in an irregular way under the skin. What I would suggest is seeing a really good lymphatic massage therapist to start breaking this down. You may want to add an egg crate or bean bag like device under your garment to improve pressure dynamics. As well I would add some superficial RF treatments I prefer the Venus platform.

Ciara.  I appreciate your concern, but I do think it is still a bit early to evaluate your results. It takes at least 4 to 6 months for all swelling to resolve and achievement of your final result. Minor touch up Micro-Liposuction may be needed, however it is in your best interest to wait at least six months before considering revision to allow all swelling to resolve. Stay in contact with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.

It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Hey there,In general, it takes minimum of 3 months to notice your final results of liposuction. However, 8 weeks post op is quite significant time and if you still have these obvious contour irregularities most probably it would persist. Continue massage and compression garment and wait for some more time to see how it goes. You might need another liposuction, with or without fat grafting, to get rid of those irregularities.Hope this helps.
