Liposuction of the jawline/neck is done under local and you can drive your self home from the procedure and go back to work in 1 day. There is almost no bruising nor swelling with the special dressings and you look so much better the very next day.
Recovery would involve swelling, bruising, and mild to moderate pain. You should be able to drive shortly after the procedure.
There is very little physical discomfort from this procedure and there is more of a social recovery involved. I recommend that my patients wear a neck compression strap for 2 weeks 24/7 for optimal results. At bare minimum, I recommend wearing this for 7 days 24/7 and then in the evenings for the next 7 days. The neck strap is the most bothersome aspect of the recovery. Bruising and swelling are generally minimal and mostly resolved after about 2 weeks. Contour improvements will continue over the course of several months but most patients look presentable after about a week.
Dear jadorelavie,in most cases, recovery process is not that long but the patients can have swelling for several weeks. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
jadorelavie. Liposuction of the jaw line and neck regions is an excellent and relatively easy way to remove unwanted fat in the area and contour the neck and jaw. It is more effective than Kybella and results are realized faster. Also it can be done under local anesthesia.Initial swelling starts resolving immediately and in 3 to 4 weeks significant improvement is seen. It may take 3 months for 100% of swelling to resolve. Be certain to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck
Many patients look good enough to return to all normal activities within one week, but low-grade swelling resolves slowly over months. Liposculpture of the face is not a physically disabling procedure. Routine fat removal should need no supplemental treatments to "speed healing" or to improve the result, but if problems develop, which they might after any procedure, additional or different therapy may be indicated.
You may have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. To speed up healing, you can try adding hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage, venus legacy or exilis radiofrequency treatments. To improve final results, we will often do a kybella and ultherapy about 4-6 weeks after neck liposuction to get more of an outcome. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
this is probably the easiest and shortest recovery there is in plastic surgery. You can be back doing your normal routine the next day. Swelling is much less then Lipo in other areas of the body. It takes time obviously for the skin to redrape and they may take months to see the full benefit but the downtime is minimal.
Thanks for your inquiry. Fibroid by themselves are not a contraindication for surgery. The only time of concern is if they are causing excessive bleeding and affecting your hemoglobin level. If your blood levels are normal it is safe for you to under liposuction with bbl. Just make sure you go ...
Susan. I appreciate your concern, but it is still much too early to worry about redundant skin. It takes at least 4 to 6 months for all swelling to resolve and skin retraction to occur. Try to stay patient, continue wearing your elastic garment and keep in touch with your plastic surgeon. Best ...
If the area is firm, it may very well take more time to resolve. It may be an area where the fat cells did not heal well. If it's ordinary fat, liposuction or direct fat thinning can be done in the office. Unfortunately, your photo really does not show the issue.
