Would inner knee liposuction help my genetic knock knees? (Photo)

Question

My knock knees have always driven me nuts. I look like a newborn horse, they rub together when when I walk and they make my calves look smaller than they are. My aunt had the same knees and had hers corrected with a surgical procedure that I THINK included liposuction, but I don't know for sure. Unfortunately she passed away so I can't ask her. Any suggestions and approximate estimated cost appreciated!

We can try lipo and also fat transfer to the other side of the knee. I personally treated patients with knock knees with liposculpture with very satisfying results.

Hello @lohaus1010, thank you for your question. Knee liposuction would help to improve the apearance of the knees. However it does not correct a genetic trade. While liposuction can help remove excess fat from the inner knee area, it does not address the underlying skeletal alignment issues that cause knock knees. Thank you for your question regarding whether knee liposuction would help genetically knock knees. Thank you for your history and pictures. Suppose you have excess skin and fat on the interior portion of your knee. Knee liposuction will help. Liposuction is geared toward removing fat. Liposuction does not alter skin or underlying bone. You may need an orthopedic evaluation if genetics predisposes you to "knock knees" or genuvalugemion. Though if you have excess fat on the inner portion of your knee, liposuction may help. Inner knee liposuction is one of the most responsive and satisfactory parts of the body treat.
There may be some skeleton component but most people have enough fat in this area that Liposuction has a significant impact and should be able to give a very high-quality outcome.
Liposuction results vary substantially among different providers.
Even though this is a straightforward fairly simple area to treat I would still be very selective when it comes to choosing a provider to do the procedure. personally I do all liposuction with patients awake using local anesthesia with mild sedation.
Patients should be placed laying on their side to treat the inner knee.
This is a pretty common area treated with Liposuction.
I suggest having multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who seem to do a lot for liposuction.
Look at the websites of plastic surgeons in your local community and see who has the greatest number and quality liposuction results compared to other procedures posted on their websites.
Look through before and after pictures to get a good understanding of what quality results should look like.
During each consultation ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of inner knee liposuction results.
An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 set of before and after pictures of commonly performed procedures. While lower extremity liposuction is not as common as treatment of the torso or abdomen it is certainly not uncommon. 
Being shown a handful of sample images representing the “best results of a providers career” is insufficient to get a clear understanding average result of how many of these procedures any one provider has actually performed.
A sufficiently talented and experienced provider should be able to show you lots and lots of before and after pictures of exactly this area on previous patients who had similar lower extremities to yours. 
Personally I would do this as an office based procedure with local anesthesia plus or minus sedation if desired. 
It is a simple procedure if done by a sufficiently experienced provider.
Liposuction results very dramatically among the different plastic surgeons and don’t assume that being board-certified in plastic surgery is the same as having mastered liposuction.
When in doubt slow down and schedule more consultations.
