Panic Attacks After Tummy Tuck? (photo)

Recently, I have been feeling extremely sensitive. My first night of surgery (TT) I suddenly started to get a strange feeling on my neck, described as tingling of some sort, lasted about a couple of minutes...Last night, I was checking my emails and I got up from my desk....again felt this sensation traveling from my feet, up to my arms & back of my neck, at this point I freaked out, my husband took my blood pressure and it was within range, but my pulse indicated a rate of 147! I started panicking

It is important to have a sense of well being following surgery. There may be a simple solution to your panic attacks. See your plastic surgeon and your primary care physician after having a panic attack. Usually a short course of medications are indicated.

I agree - you need to discuss this with your own surgeon. Sometimes you can get these types of side effects from medications.

Claudia I agree. We do not know you or your health at all so in this forum I would not go with our attempt to clinically diagnose you. It could just be panic attacks and it could be more so make sure if you have not done so already, to contact your surgeon. They would want to know right away. I know I would!

Claudia--this is best addressed with your surgeon or your primary MD.  It won't be solved online by surgeons who don't know you! Any reassurance from Realself surgeons will be false reassurance.

The best way to deal with panic attacks is to see your primary care physician. There have been some patients who have had panic attacks after surgery but this is usually controlled with short term benzodiazepenes.
