Will lip injections make my cleft lip scar more noticeable? (Photos)

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  Depending on the pliability or "stretchiness" of your lip tissues your scar may look less noticeable after dermal filler injections.  With asymmetrical placement, larger deposits of filler in the small side of the lip should help improve the balance between your right and left sides.  If your cleft lip scar is firm and does not stretch, filler placement may leave a tourniquet type appearance with the lips on either side of the scar increasing in size but the area of the scar unable to do so.  See an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to discuss. Hope this helps.  

In your case, it would likely be easy to augment the tissue "behind" the lip area on the un-scarred side so you can achieve a more symmetrical lip eversion.If you choose to have filler, go slowly and go to a highly experienced injector who won't place too much filler or place filler where it shouldn't go. Taking baby steps might take longer and cost a little more, but by going slowly, you won't be overwhelmed with a change you don't like.
