Will fat grafting help wrinkles under eyes and crows feet? Will it improve crepey skin under eyes due to volume loss? (photo)

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

With fat grafting, you may get a subtle improvement lines around the lower eyes because increasing volume would potentially stretch the overlying skin a touch. However, this is not something I would promise or create an expectation. If it happens, its icing on the cake. In general, laser resurfacing or skin excision, along with maintenance with botox will give you a more predictable improvement in fine lines/wrinkles. Hope this helps.Best regards...

Hello, and thank you for your question. A fat transfer procedure will help fill hollow areas and restore lost volume helping you achieve a more youthful look. Wrinkles can also be minimized; however, they will respond better to a combination of skin excision or a laser resurfacing treatment depending on their severity. A blepharoplasty can also excise loose, extra skin and give you a smoother, younger wrinkle-free appearance around your eyes. Fat transfer does a great job or restoring volume loss int he cheeks and under the eyes. It helps restore shape and contour. Fine wrinkles under your eyes are best treated with skin removal (lower blepharoplasty). I find that these two procedures work very well in combination.

Your photos do not show significant facial fat atrophy. You have naturally good volume in the face. Of course we all loss volume over time but you would probably do very well with selective fillers to the areas of concern. With respect to your eyes a TCA peel or laser peel would be ideal to help improve the crepey, discolored skin under your eyes and botox would be the most helpful to improve your crows feet. yes and no.  Volume will not do much for fine wrinkles.Facial volume loss from age an be corrected with fat grafting but be careful with what provider you choose or you could end up looking like a chipmunk.Try fillers first.If you have found a board certified plastic surgeon who has ample experience have him or her treat you with fillers.This will tell you two things. One, do you like what added volume did.Two, did the PS give you the result you wanted.
