Answer: Post op itching and pain The itching that occasionally follows a Hair transplantation surgery is most commonly caused by post operative crusting. Less often, it is due to excessive drying of the scalp from aggressive shampooing, an infection such as infectious eczematoid dermatitis, an allergic reaction to topically applied agents, or a previously existing skin condition (such as psoriasis). For any injury, including surgery, the healing process begins with blood clotting to form a scab. As new collagen is produced and replenished at the wound site, as well as elastin fibers, it is this portion of healing that can cause scar itching and discomfort. If you experience a severe pain, then contact your surgeon immediately in order to be sure that if there is any infection or not
