In the one photo, it appears that you are deficient vertically and horizontally. You have a deep mentolabial fold which tells me that you need vertical lengthening. A sliding genioplasty can provide both lengthening and advancement with one operation. Vertical lengthening of the chin cannot be adequately accomplished with a chin implant. It tends to deepen an already deep fold. The procedure should improve the balance of your lower face.
Unfortunately, a single photo like this is not enough to give you any meaningful advise. It would be in your best interest to seek a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in facial implants and jaw surgery. Hope this helps.
I suggest having a few in person, consultations with oral surgeons and plastic surgeons in your community. Both specialties contribute to surgery on this part of the face.During each consultation, you can that only get an assessment, a better understanding of treatment options, including how this may affect secondary issues as well. Thanks,Mats Hagstrom MD
Without photos to go on, it is harder to give you better advice. A genioplasty allows for your chin to be moved into a different position which may be what you are looking for. If you like where your chin is positioned but don't like the shape, you can have the bone contoured down to make it...
We almost always recommend a genioplasty over an implant for several reasons. A genioplasty can typically provide more projection and definitely more height than an implant. An added benefit of a genioplasty is it adds length and definition to the jawline while tightening the skin under the skin...
The great thing about a genioplasty is its versatility. The chin segment can be moved up, down and even to the side; it does not have to just come forward. The example photo to have is very much doable. It is all about facial balance. Our office offers in-person or virtual consultations if you...
Dynamic chin changes are hard to effectively treat. photos of you not smiling are as important as photos of you smiling. It appears that you have a large chin pad and the bony chin is likely normal. Reducing the chin and/or performing a chin "tuck" may be helpful. Sometimes mentalis muscle...
It is hard to answer based solely on this picture and without a thorough evaluation but you could be a candidate for a chin repair & reduction. I hope this helps, Best of luck !
You are a candidate for a genioplasty. Your chin is a bit short and recessed. By moving it forward and down, it would bring balance to your profile while elongating your jawline. This would create a more "v" shape in your face while tightening the skin around your jawline and under the chin. We...
