The advantage over filler is that the size and shape is very consistent, and the results are permanent. The advantage over sliding genioplasty (jaw surgery) is that an implant can be placed in the office under local anesthesia, and the downtime/recovery is less intense. I usually perform chin implants through a small incision inside the mouth so that there is no visible scar. Hope this helps!
