After consultation Dr said it is visceral fat so I will not be able to achieve a flat stomach. No problem. But RE chest he said he would have to remove breast tissue as well as lipo. I really would hate to have a flat chest (most of the pictures / posts I have read here), I really don't think it would suit me. Especially with my stomach still being curved after the lipo. So my Q is, how flat do you think I would be able to get my stomach, and will this look odd with my chest after gynaecomastia?
Answer: Abdominal prominence might be more of an issue when gynecomastia is treated by liposuction. Although your abdomen will not be more prominent the fact that your chest is flatter might make it seems so to you. On balance so I think you'll be pleased with the result.

Answer: Liposuction - Gynecomastia and Stomach Fat Thank you for your question. I agree that a combination of liposuction and direct tissue excision will adequately treat your gynecomastia. However, if you are concerned about your chest being "too flat", please discuss this with your plastic surgeon. Perhaps just tissue excision, without the lipo, will give you a look you are more comfortable with. I think the biggest improvement to your stomach will be from weight loss. It appears most of your fat is intra-abdominal so liposuction will only result in mild improvement. Hope this helps and good luck with your surgery.

Answer: Liposuction of chest I understand your dilemma. There's a single solution that will help both your tummy and your chest - weight loss. Weight loss will improve the contour of your abdomen and chest. To further improve the contour of your chest, weight training will help to build the chest muscles and give you a stronger and more chiseled look. After this, you may only need removal of the gland tissue for correction of gynecomastia. Diet and exercise can be tough to get right and keep up. I would recommend consulting with an exercise trainer - it will pay off.

Answer: Liposuction of the abdomen and chest Everything your plastic surgeon told you is correct. It is unlikely you will look to flat if the procedure is done correctly. The opposite is by far more common.Men often still complain that they have chest fullness after gynecomastia surgery. This is especially true when firm breast tissue is not excised with techniques other than regular liposuction. The best way to minimize The appearance of a flat chest as to avoid or minimize the liposuction on the upper one half of the chest allowing the pectoralis muscle to look as full as possible.Emphasis should be on the lower 1/2 to 1/3 of the chest especially around the nipple and often extending into the side of the chest. It's also nice to leave in the small room a fat ass the chest comes off the sternum.I well developed male chest with strong pectoralis muscles will have some definition as the pectoralis comes off the breast bone or sternum.Patients with loose skin on the chest will almost always have some residual fullness that looks like fat but it's actually skin redundancy.Intra-abdominal fat more visceral fat well limit the potential outcome fro abdominal liposuction. That is not to say that abdominal liposuction is inappropriate. It doesn't mean that expectations need to be set appropriately with what can be delivered from liposuction by itself. A combination of liposuction and WeightLoss well give you the best result.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
