After consultation Dr said it is visceral fat so I will not be able to achieve a flat stomach. No problem. But RE chest he said he would have to remove breast tissue as well as lipo. I really would hate to have a flat chest (most of the pictures / posts I have read here), I really don't think it would suit me. Especially with my stomach still being curved after the lipo. So my Q is, how flat do you think I would be able to get my stomach, and will this look odd with my chest after gynaecomastia?

Answer: Liposuction of the abdomen and chest Everything your plastic surgeon told you is correct. It is unlikely you will look to flat if the procedure is done correctly. The opposite is by far more common.Men often still complain that they have chest fullness after gynecomastia surgery. This is especially true when firm breast tissue is not excised with techniques other than regular liposuction. The best way to minimize The appearance of a flat chest as to avoid or minimize the liposuction on the upper one half of the chest allowing the pectoralis muscle to look as full as possible.Emphasis should be on the lower 1/2 to 1/3 of the chest especially around the nipple and often extending into the side of the chest. It's also nice to leave in the small room a fat ass the chest comes off the sternum.I well developed male chest with strong pectoralis muscles will have some definition as the pectoralis comes off the breast bone or sternum.Patients with loose skin on the chest will almost always have some residual fullness that looks like fat but it's actually skin redundancy.Intra-abdominal fat more visceral fat well limit the potential outcome fro abdominal liposuction. That is not to say that abdominal liposuction is inappropriate. It doesn't mean that expectations need to be set appropriately with what can be delivered from liposuction by itself. A combination of liposuction and WeightLoss well give you the best result.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
