Soon I noticed a very soft bulging area on my right butt cheek. I am trying to find out what has caused this (I’m a nurse so I’m not looking to blame my surgeon. I really want to understand what happened) What is the usual treatment for this? I have been taping it down with medipore tape and sometimes it looks better and other times, such as in this picture, it appears worse. I have also noticed that the look of it has changed over the last month.

Answer: Bulge in buttock following BBL Hi and welcome to our forum! The photos provided certainly confirm the presence of a mass, the nature of which is unknown without a physical examination. This may represent a seroma, which would require treatment. I recommend reevaluation by your surgeon as soon as feasible.Best wishes...

Answer: Soft bulging area on right buttock after BBL. I had a BBL one month ago. Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these photos, the soft area could be a seroma or liquified fat. Discuss this with your surgeon, he/she might need to aspirate this. In any case, this is not a good result. The fat was not placed in the appropriate anatomical place. Your buttocks look very odd. You will loose volume over the next 1-2 months at which point your shape will not change. Good luck with your healing.

Answer: Bulge Dear EG2002,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
