I steam my face about once a week after I cleanse and exfoliate. I've read that it open pores causing products to sink deeper in the skin. Only thing that worries me is doing the steam Facial may cause to pores to open and stay enlarged. Any thoughts? Thank you :)
Answer: Steam causing enlarged pores Good morning and thank you for your question! Steam will cause the pores to temporarily dilate making it easier for your esthetician to perform extractions (if need be) or for products to penetrate deeper into the skin. The pores will return to their original size after the skin cools back down. For more information please feel free to visit our website!

Answer: No they close back up when skin cools down Steaming your face is good practice because it enables the pores to open which makes it easier for the debris and dirt to be unclogged from the pores. It is the temperature that makes the skin dilate, and once the skin cools down the pore will close back up. So, my answer to your question is no, a steam facial will open your pores, but it will not cause them to stay enlarged.

Answer: Steam can not cause permanent enlarged pores Hello! Thank you for your question. Your pores will dilate when exposed to steam. Your esthetician uses steam to soften your skin so he/she is able to perform any extractions that are needed. Steam can only cause damage if the steam is left on the skin for too long, which causes a burn. There has been no studies that show that steam, even if on the skin for too long, has caused permanent enlarged pores. If you have enlarged pores it is most likely being caused by something else. There are a wide variety of treatments that can help enlarged pores. I suggest seeing a medical esthetician to find out options to take care of that issue. I hope this helps!!
