Is it true that you can't lay on your side once you get implants? Also, do you have to wear a bra? I read in a group that you should never go without a bra. My goal is to only wear one if i chose too.
Answer: Is it true that you can't lay on your side and have to wear a bra once you get implants? That is absolutley not true. You can sleep anyway that you find comfortable. However some women find it difficult to sleep on thier backs after augmentation. The same for the wearing of a bra after surgery. We always put our surgical patients into a bra after surgery and advise them to wear it for the first couple of weeks, only taking it off to shower. After that it is up to the paitent if they want to wear it or not. It does not affect the outcome of the procedure at all.

Answer: Implants Once you have healed from surgery you can lay in any comfortable position you choose for sleeping. Initially it is recommended that you wear a surgical bra day and night to support the breasts as the heal. Once healed you can wear a bra as you choose. We do encourage support for the breasts, especially during exercise even after you have healed from surgery.

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear Vanish66, every surgeon has a preferred type of bra that they let their patients wear after breast augmentation, as this would depend on various factors like the type of surgery performed and the size of the implant used. You should discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon and follow his or her advice. Answer: Is it true that you can't lay on your side and have to wear a bra once you get implants? Many surgeons will ask you to sleep on your back during the healing process following breast augmentation. Most will allow you sleep on your side once an appropriate period of time has passed. Wearing a bra regularly is recommend whether you have implants or not. Bras help to counteract gravity and reduce the tendency for breast to sag over time.

Answer: Breast Implants - Requirements? After about 6 weeks, I cannot think of a reason not to lay on your side after gel breast implants. Although every surgeon has their own protocol after surgery, in my experience of 18 years, bra use to support the implant is usually started after the implant has settled a bit. Once the implant is in position, then I strongly recommend locking it in with a good supportive bra for 6 months. After that, I leave it up to you as to how much bra support is comfortable. All the best!

Answer: No Initially after surgery you will want to sleep on your back with your head elevated and a bra 24/7. Once you are healed you may sleep however you are most comfortable and wear a bra as you see fit.
