Pain, tenderness in one breast 6 months post op

Question

I had a breast aug with silicone implants 6 months ago. Pain was gone at 2 months. Now suddenly i have pain in my left breast. The nipple and surrounding area is severly sensitive and hurts to touch. Or even have the shower spray on it. There is no swelling, redness, tightness, and no new exersises or accidents. Coule this be normal?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Since the pain is new it is best have the breasts assessed by your surgeon.  It may disappear on its own with time, but your surgeon will be better to advise if there is any cause for concern after an evaluation.

Pain at 6 months is not normal and may not be related to your implants. Please let your surgeon check you and you might need an ultrasound to check for cysts.

I would highly recommend that you return to your plastic surgeon for an examination and recommendations. You need to be evaluated for the source of your pain before treatment options can be discussed.
Sometimes this can be treated with proper support or gel nipple-areolar covers. Sometimes this can be related to  capsule trauma, occult injury, or other less obvious causes.
