Pain, tenderness in one breast 6 months post op

I had a breast aug with silicone implants 6 months ago. Pain was gone at 2 months. Now suddenly i have pain in my left breast. The nipple and surrounding area is severly sensitive and hurts to touch. Or even have the shower spray on it. There is no swelling, redness, tightness, and no new exersises or accidents. Coule this be normal?

Dear Kind868884, capsular contracture happens. In fact, every implant has a capsule form around it, its just a certain percentage develop thick capsules. There is a lot we don't know about it actually. Some think that bacteria that gets on the implant during insertion can increase the risk....

A complete workup needs to be conducted by a board-certified plastic surgeon who may be able to determine if the pain is related to the implant. It may not be. The patient should be examined for all possible implant related complications and imaging can be used to supplement the findings.

Fortunately you have saline implants which rarely encapsulate. The other issues you have should not affect capsular contracture in any way
