Could I get a good result from a Brazilian butt lift?

Question

I am 42, 5’9 and weigh approximately 190. I do have high blood pressure but it is controlled by triamterene/Hctz. I want to get a BBL, would I get good results? I’m not looking for a wash board flat tummy, I would like it somewhat more flat. Not really wanting a tummy tuck. My main focus is to get a bigger rear end. I do have hypertrophic scarring from a previous myomectomy surgery preformed in 2016. They are slowly fading away. I have never had children.

As long as your blood pressure is well controlled with medication and you are otherwise healthy, you can proceed with surgery.  Fat can be taken from many different areas (abdomen, sides, back, bra rolls, thighs, arms, etc) depending upon the areas of excess and what your goals may be.  Most patients get an immense benefit with maximal liposuction of the abdomen, sides, and back to obtain the smallest waist possible and then maximal fat transfer to the buttocks and hips. The goal is to transfer fat from areas where you find it displeasing to areas in which you would like more volume. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

A good candidate has enough fat available for transfer in the procedure. The amount of fat that can be transferred in a BBL depends on how much fat the patient has to harvest and the amount of space there is to move the fat into. It is recommended for the patient to have a BMI of 30 or less. If you are too thin, a Brazilian Butt Lift may not be possible.

Dear tljohnson876,as long as your hypertension is well controlled, you might be a candidate for a surgery but there is a chance that you will have some loose skin. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. Looking at your photos I might say that you´ll be a great candidate to get an entire back, waist and flanks liposuction, with BBL, and tummy tuck, this is because all the extra skin located in this areas plus your abdominal muscle needs to be repaired.

Before all this, of course, you need to get a complete medical evaluation and laboratory exams to check everything is fine. Also please try to find a board certified plastic surgeon, remember that your safety, always, is going to be first.

Hi. Sorry but you are not candidate only for  a Brazilian Butt Lift,  this procedure alone will not improve your  body contour. You are very much in need of a Tummy Tuck + Lipo + BBL to enhance and improve your whole figure, because you have separation of your abdominal muscles and excessive skin and fat in your abdominal area wich can not be corrected by BBL. For best results and a better health for the surgery is always advisable to loose some weight before it.

Since you don't wish to get a tummy tuck, and based on your pictures, you are a good candidate for liposuction with BBL.
Liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You can improve your abdomen, back, hips, thighs and flanks, and of course your buttock, to give you a beautiful heart shape.
In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.
l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.
