I had a mommy makeover including a breast lift with implants three weeks ago. Healing nicely except for a few scabs on my right nipple and a scab under each breast at the t incision. I read conflicting information whether to keep the scabs dry, even by wearing no bra at night to air them out? Or to keep them moist with ointment and to cover with non-stick pads? If ointment is the correct action, which ointment? Vaseline, Neosporin, Polysporin, etc.
Answer: Recommend applying Plato's scar serum on the scars twice daily until healed Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Best Treatment for Breast Lift Scabs?
Congratulations on having undergone the mommy makeover surgery. Always best to follow your own plastic surgeon's recommendations, regardless of conflicting information you may read or hear. Often, in situations like this, there is no “right answer”.
Call your plastic surgeon for his/her recommendations. Remember that he/she knows your situation best and is ultimately responsible for your care.
Best wishes.

Answer: When in the acute post-op period
its always best to get your information and instructions from your surgeon. He/She knows best what was done and if there could be any more concerns about your situation. Plus doctors all have their own way of doing things and they of course, all think their way is the best way. So get your doctor's 'best' way of getting this healed.
