Hypotheticay speaking, would I be able to take a break from the compression bra 4,5 weeks post op for 3-4 hours? If the answer is yes, can I replace it with a non-wired normal bra or is it better to go braless?
Answer: SUPPORT YOUR BREAST Hi. Thank you for your question. I usually recommend that my patients continue wearing a post-op, compression bra for 4 to 6 weeks post breast lift with breast augmentation . So, at the 5-week stage, I feel that it's no longer necessary to use the post-op compression bra as long as your healing has been progressing without any complications. Going forward, it is important to understand that, when having a breast lift and breast augmentation, we are adding more weight to the breast. You had a breast lift to remove the excess, stretched skin, so to go braless for long periods will cause the skin to stretch again over time, causing the breasts to sag. So, I suggest that my patients continue to wear a sports bra or a wireless bra after the 4 to 6 week period. The purpose of a bra is to support the weight of the implants and breast tissue, reducing the stretching of the skin. The bra you decide to use after recovery should be comfortable and have good support. This will ensure that your breasts remain perky and that you aren't letting the skin alone hold all the weight of the breast implant, giving you longer lasting results. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best

Answer: Bra You need to ask your surgeon this question. Your surgeon knows what procedure you had and what kind of implants were used. My patients wear a support bra for 4 weeks and then can go into a bra of their choice except for push up bras.

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear db1100, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery. Answer: Replacing bra Hello thank you for your question. Typically we tell our patients no underwire for at least 6 weeks but of course they can switch out to a soft bra. Speak with your plastic surgeon about your options and concerns. For more before and after photos feel free to check out our website below.
