BBL results and gaining fat?

If fat cells engorge and reduce size according with how much weigh we gain or loose , why is it needed to gain weight when wanting to have a bbl, why some people don't have enough fat cells when supposedly the fat cell is existing but not engorged when someone is skinny for example .

"You've touched upon an important aspect of Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures. It's true that fat cells engorge and reduce in size based on weight gain or loss, but they don't multiply in numbers unless there's significant weight gain.

However, I personally do not recommend patients to gain weight intentionally for a BBL. When patients gain weight solely for the surgery and then lose it post-operatively, it can affect the longevity and consistency of the BBL results. This is because the newly transferred fat cells can also reduce in size, leading to a potential loss of the desired projection and shape."

Thanks for your question. A BBL requires 360 lipo, which is lipo of the upper and lower abdomen, the upper and lower back and the flanks. If you do not have enough fat in these areas, liposuction can be performed in many other areas of the body for fat transfer to the buttocks, such as the upper arms and chin. As such, patients that do not have enough body fat for transfer may be asked to gain some weight. Hope this helps. Always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. I don't recommend my patients to gain weight prior to BBL surgery, because their results will get worse after they lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Hello, thank you for your question. Yes if you would gain weight later on than it would go into the areas of fat cells. Thats a great outlook but typically patients want to see results right away and if you are heavier its easier to feel and remove more fat. Typically more fat wont cause a contour deformity since we keep a thin layer of fat behind after lipo suctioning.
