Wearing loose wool beanie/winter hat 1 month post FUE? (photos)

Question

Tomorrow will mark the 30th day post op, and so far everything has been going smoothly and according to plan. The doctors team have been updating me regularly and helping out with all my questions. Just one didn't get a universal response: is wearing a knitted wool winter hat (pictured below) safe after 4 weeks? The hat in question is (almost excessively) loose fitting, broad knit and light. My doctor himself sees no problem, but one of the assistants worried about snagging. Thank you.

There should be no issue with wearing hats or beanies but if you are concerned, it is best to check with your doctor.

Based on your photo and description wearing that hat now should not cause a problem.The grafts are completely secure at this point .

For the most part it should be okay. However, it must really be loose not too tight to constrict blood vessel. Also, if it is made up of cotton it can grab some grafts if the grafts have not been  falling out yet. However, for the most part you should be doing just fine.

Yes it is fine to wear beanies or other knit hats after 2 weeks post op. The danger of wearing knit hats in regards to a hair restoration is just after the surgery for the first few days. A knit hat could potentially pull grafts out. We have seen this happen before and is universally known in the hair transplant world.

Yes, that should be fine. At 1 month post op from a hair transplant it is OK to wear a ball cap or loose fitted hat.
