Juvederm in lips, 2015 - left with protruding philtrum and uneven smile. Is this scar tissue? Will hyaluronidase work?

I first had Juvederm 1ml put in summer 2014 then again in early 2015. I loved the result. I changed clinic to go to another doctor, Xmas 2015. They were bigger but I liked them. Three years later, smile now looks uneven. Area above upper lip puffy, philtrum protruding, almost mannish. Noticed “moustache” like shadow in studio lighting. Was flatter before. Will this ugly shape even be filler anymore? Would hyaluronidase help? Can scar tissue be removed from inside lips to even out?

Thank you for your question. Juvederm ultra tends to last around 6 months in the lips. If this is bothering you it can be corrected with an enzyme called hyalase. This will dissolve these little lumps you have.

Hello there! I have seen several patients now, with residual Juvederm YEARS after injection. This may be something that can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, especially if you notice a shadow in that area.
