I had 350cc saline implants done when I was 23 and was very happy with the result. I am 27 now & feel like my breasts are a bit too big. Can boobs somehow get bigger after an augmentation? I am a runner/sportswoman & do a lot of exercise/sport. I have always had a lower BMI, so it can't be weight gain. I'm also not pregnant. As grateful as I am to have them I feel like they look like they are getting bigger/are a bit too big for my body and am considering getting them re-done to a smaller size.
Answer: Breast growing in size years after augmentation. Thank you for your question.Although you may not have gained any weight, it is possible to develop tissue around the breast that can alter the appearance, and this is normal. I agree with the answer below that you may need a mastopexy (breast lift) if you choose to reduce the size of your implants in the future, so I recommend you visit your Board Certified Plastic surgeon to be evaluated and make a plan of care. Best of luck!

Answer: Size change Thank you for your question. Increased volume in your breast 7 years after augmentation would not be caused by your procedure. Breast volume changes are often due to such things as weight gain/loss (which can contribute to breast sag), pregnancy and breastfeeding to name a few. Best to follow-up with your plastic surgeon to discuss your particular circumstances. Good luck.

Answer: Breast larger after augmentation Thank you for your question Although the implant will not get larger in size, it is still possible to develop breast glandular tissue or fatty tissue around the implant. Additional breast volume development is not uncommon - even later in life. If you choose to downsize your implants - you may require a simultaneous lift procedure to handle the excess skin that would result. Good luck in the future and congrats on maintaining an active lifestyle.

Answer: Downsizing Yes - your breasts can change over time and it is not uncommon for them to get larger even without weight gain. I would recommend consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience with revision breast surgery. Answer: Is it possible for your breasts to get bigger, even years after augmentation? Yes, it is possible (even without overall weight gain). There is no predicting exactly how breasts will change over the course of years. When it comes to downsizing revisionary breast surgery concerns, my best advice: select your plastic surgeon carefully. Make sure that he/she has significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you will be pleased with. Then, communicate your goals carefully, as well. Be careful about utilizing cup size references when it comes to communication. In my practice, the use of computer imaging and goal photographs is much more helpful. Working together you will come up with a good plan to achieve your goals. Best wishes.
