I agree with my colleagues regarding a collaboration with your neurologist in planning for a possible breast augmentation. Your physical examination is important to ascertain any levels of possible muscle weakness in the chest area that could impact on the surgical plan for you. Do not base your surgeon selection on the basis of whether or not your surgeon has performed this operation on other patients with MS. That is far less relevant than finding an experienced surgeon whose skill, knowledge, judgement and aesthetics make him or her the right surgeon for you. Best of luck to you.
Thank you for your question. Best to consider a board certified plastic surgeon who will communicate with your primary care and neurologist. Collaboration between these physicians will be important to provide the best care possible. Good luck.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. If you are in good health otherwise and can obtain medical clearance from your physician who treats your MS, then you may be a candidate for a breast augmentation. This decision shouldbe based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both youand your surgeon. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. I think that this would have to be coordinated with your neurologist to see if you are ok to go through with the surgery. Many times I treat patients in the hospital if there any issues.
Dear LH-13,I would examine you and then speak directly to the physician taking care of your MS issues for their input and advise. We would then decide together the best placement. Good luck with your search.Dr T
Dear Loveharmony13,Thank you for your question. I agree w/Dr Reish. If you are otherwise in good health and your medical doctor clears you for the procedure, on paper you would be an acceptable candidate for an Augmentation. Obviously we would like to see you in person. Hope this helps & good luckJames Sheridan, MD
In order to undergo augmentation, you would require clearance from your neurologist. This will depend on the severity of your condition as many treating physicians will decline to clear for anything not medically necessary. A discussion with your neurologist should be the starting point in your research. Best wishes.
Based on your picture this size looks perfect for your frame, 500 cc would have been too big for you in my opinion.
If you are long-term steroids, you should still be able to undergo a BA procedure as long as you are stable from a medical standpoint. It is best to have your plastic surgeon and the anesthesiologist review your medical history and medications to optimize your treatment plan so that you can ha...
If you have a postoperative concern, you should bring the issue up to your surgeon. They have a better ability to evaluate your issues and make sure there are no acute problems than asking online sites like this one.
