I just had a small amount (maybe 1/4 of the syringe left from Nasolabial folds ) of Restylane Silk injected in my lips 2 days ago by a certified plastic surgeon . My upper lip was moderately swollen and lower lip bruised in the corners .I feel some bumps/nodules, some of them are visible . My question is if this is normal for this product, and should I be concerned that it's going to be permanent ? And what if anything should I be doing or applying?
Answer: Restylane Silk lip treatments Feeling some lumpiness or bumps after lip injections is quite common, and is a temporary side effect. Massage can be performed to help dissipate larger lumps, and if things persist, hyaluronidase can be injected to further dissipate the product. Restylane Silk is an excellent product for filling lips, and the effects can last about 6 months. The product does need to be injected slowly, but the results I've seen so far in my patients have been very pleasing. I would recommend going back to see your surgeon, and he/she will certainly be able to help improve things and reassure you that the bumps will eventually resolve.

Answer: Restylane Silk- Bumps Small bumps are a common side effect of Restylane Silk. This may be because of the swelling that results after injection. This is only temporary and should last about a week. In the meantime, you can apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.

Answer: Can Bumps from Restylane Silk be Permanent? Hi Daniella. Restylane silk is a Hyaluronic acid based dermal filler and this type of filler naturally dissolves in the body over a period of time. In addition, any persistent lumps and bumps of product may be dissolved quickly with a small amount of Vitrase aka: hyaluronidase. Being that you experienced bruising, swelling accompanies bruising which may look and feel like lumps. If this is the case, it wouldn't be beneficial or wise to massage the areas. Taking arnica tablets is sometimes helpful in resolving the side effects. We recommend contacting your injector for feedback on what they prefer you do as they may want to bring you in for a check up.

Answer: It’s normal after filler injections in the lips to feel some lumps and bumps. It’s normal after filler injections in the lips to feel some lumps and bumps. These should resolve over the course of a few days to a week. They are NOT permanent. You can apply ice to help with swelling. If the bumps persist after a few weeks, you can visit your injector again to see about dissolving the product.

Answer: Restylane Silk - Bumps/Nodules I appreciate your question. Some nodules and contour irregularity can happen the first few days due to swelling. Try to avoid massaging your lips. You can ice your lips off and on to help with swelling and take a benadryl in the evening (as it may make you sleepy). If bumps/nodules persist for more than 10 days, please follow up with injecting MD for evaluation. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. best of luck! Dr Schwartz

Answer: Restylane Silk and bumps/nodules Thank you for your question. With proper technique, the majority of bumps or nodules will go away as these may more attributed to local swelling or bruising that should resolve. Having said that, a large amount of any filler product will cause a lump that can be directly attributed to the filler product. I would wait a good week and then follow up with your plastic surgeon to assess the results.
