I just had a small amount (maybe 1/4 of the syringe left from Nasolabial folds ) of Restylane Silk injected in my lips 2 days ago by a certified plastic surgeon . My upper lip was moderately swollen and lower lip bruised in the corners .I feel some bumps/nodules, some of them are visible . My question is if this is normal for this product, and should I be concerned that it's going to be permanent ? And what if anything should I be doing or applying?

Answer: It’s normal after filler injections in the lips to feel some lumps and bumps. It’s normal after filler injections in the lips to feel some lumps and bumps. These should resolve over the course of a few days to a week. They are NOT permanent. You can apply ice to help with swelling. If the bumps persist after a few weeks, you can visit your injector again to see about dissolving the product.

Answer: Restylane Silk - Bumps/Nodules I appreciate your question. Some nodules and contour irregularity can happen the first few days due to swelling. Try to avoid massaging your lips. You can ice your lips off and on to help with swelling and take a benadryl in the evening (as it may make you sleepy). If bumps/nodules persist for more than 10 days, please follow up with injecting MD for evaluation. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. best of luck! Dr Schwartz

Answer: Restylane Silk and bumps/nodules Thank you for your question. With proper technique, the majority of bumps or nodules will go away as these may more attributed to local swelling or bruising that should resolve. Having said that, a large amount of any filler product will cause a lump that can be directly attributed to the filler product. I would wait a good week and then follow up with your plastic surgeon to assess the results.
