Are the body contour irregularities I am experiencing after gynecomastia surgery normal? (photos)

Dear MrJordan,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a gynecomastia surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides  you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD

Rest assured you are in the very early stages of postoperative healing. I tell my gynecomastia patients that there can be notable inflammation and swelling persisting for several weeks to months after the procedure. During this time, it’s important to have regular follow-up with your Plastic Surgeon as well as stay compliant with wearing compression garments and limiting physical activity as instructed. Don’t be discouraged by any perceived irregularities or imperfections at this stage, your final results will not be readily apparent until several months (6 or more) after surgery. 
Keep positive, practice patience, and continue to share your concerns with your Plastic Surgeon. And best of luck to you during the rest of your recovery!

It appears that you had a boomerang type of gynecomastia procedure. Some skin reduction was apparently done at the same time. It may take a few months for you to see the final result. Don't stress at this point. Congratulations on your surgery.
